"Since leaving the military, farming is the most rewarding and challenging job I've found. The fields are a place where I can activate my creativity, find peace, and work through things with my hands in the soil."  — LORREN POGSON

Lorren Pogson, Vice President of the Farmer Veteran Coalition of ConnecticutLorren Pogson was raised in Farmington and spent the better part of her life being inspired by agriculture and helping to cultivate her family’s farm. As Vice President of the Farmer Veteran Coalition of Connecticut, Lorren has played an integral role in helping to establish a local chapter to better connect with and support fellow Farmer Veterans.

Mountain View Farm celebrated 100 years of helping to feed the local community last year! Lorren’s great grandfather moved to the United States from Denmark and purchased a parcel of land in 1921, which became the agricultural legacy that Lorren continues to farm with her family today. Lorren, her parents, and siblings work tirelessly to maintain the integrity of the operation, to share the significance of agriculture with the community, and carry on her great grandfather’s dreams of sowing the land for sustainable food sources.

Lorren was a United States Army Chemical Corps Officer who was deployed in 2002 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Since leaving the military, Lorren feels that farming is the most rewarding and challenging job she has found. The fields are a place where she can activate her creativity, find peace, and work through things with her hands in the soil. Lorren feels the farming lifestyle is a gift and she's grateful to still be cultivating this generational farm with her family by her side.
